Oh... My... God... The horror!

Alright, so I have the GetBackers GBA game, and when I first got it, it was a little hard to learn how to manage my characters, and pair them up to create the best power attacks, create good relationships between them, and make sure they didn't try to kill each other. It was also hard, however, to not know what level your current characters should be at, in order to proceed through the game with as little trouble as possible.

I was not good at this. Before you aquire a character, his stats are already set, and each characters speed, strenght, defense and so on would only get higher as you gained a level, and never progress on their own (if that makes sense). For example, no matter how many skill points the characters gained, Kagami always had the highest speed, and the lowest strength. Akabane always had the highest attack, and the lowest defense. ...And so on. Anyways, you can only have three active characters in battle at once, and at some points, your group would be foreced to break up into threes or twos, and travel alone (by order of the goddamn game).

Now like I said, it was hard to know what level your characters should be at, at their current standing. So when I was supposed to battle Kagami, beat him, and have him join up with me, he had like (exageration), a million hitpoints. WTF?! Within the first fifty seconds of battle, Akabane, Ban and Emishi were already unconsious. In fact, the only character I had left before actually forcing Kagami down, was Ginji. And boy did that cost me, as time progressed.

At one point, the group had to split up, to search this big building. It was Shido, Ban and Himiko as a team, Kazuki, Juubei and Emishi as a team, and Kagami, Akabane and Ginji as a team. Oh dear god. That Akabane, Kagami, Gin team was a nightmare. Not because they were difficult to win with, but because... Well... Durring battle, after my first attacks, Akabane would always be immediately eliminated, due to his incredible lack of hitpoints (despite his incredible attack power). Ginji would always have about ten hitpoints left, and Kagami would wipe the enemy out in a single blow. And of course, I eventually ran out of healing potions to use to bring Akabane to full health. So basically, I got this image of Akabane being dragged around this abandoned warehoue by a close-to-dead Ginji and a completely healthy Kagami. And it made me so mad, I just had to let it out on a sheet of blank paper. This is basically what it looked like.

There were some fun parts, of course, like creating power attacks, and building character relationships. Two characters would only perform a power attack when they liked each other. So it was awesome, getting characters to end up in relationships that are completely opposite from how they actually act. For example, Akabane ended up as a neutural towards everyone, except for Ban, Kagami and Emishi, whom he liked, and Himiko, whom he didn't just hate, no, but LOATHED. See? FUN!

Here're some links to some screenshots for you, just in case you wanna see what it's like. ^_^
